Detail:  Due to the immense success of our first two illustrated volumes, LORICARDIIAE and SOUTHAMERICAN CICHLIDS 1 both at home and abroad, it is now a pleasure to continue the complicated work on further publications.

In this volume we show you all "dwarfs" including Apistogramma, Biotoecus, Crenicara, Dicrossus, Nannacara, Taeniacara and Microgeophagus, previously know as Papiliochromis.

In the volumes 1 and 2 we introduced to you almost half of all known Southamerican Cichlids. Adding the soon to be expeced volume 3, which will also include all species from Central America, the reader will have a complete encyclopeadia on Southamerican Cichlids on his hands (except for the Discus and Angel-fish which will be treated in a separate volume.

All the fish are easy to identify using the simple code number system.

The clearly arranged symbol-informations accompanying each of the 500 photographs give a good overview of the origin, care instructions and other characteristics of each featured species.
