Established in 1996, Aquariums R Us has emerged as the industry's innovative leader with a reputation for quality and design. Our expertise has been keenly sought by Australia Zoo, Seaworld, Queensland Museum, CSIRO, Department of Primary Industries, Underwater World and numerous features in Clubs, Restaurants, Film and Commercials.

Now you can buy your aquarium direct from the manufacturer and save money. With over 50 different off-the-shelf sizes of aquariums available and the largest ready-to-go range of furniture, lights, filters, heaters etc. in Queensland.  Recently we have expanded our product base to include a large range of reptile requirements.

Payment

All pricing and payments must be made in Australian dollars.
We cheerfully accept cash, money orders and direct deposits into our bank account. We offer full in store Eftpos facilities, accepting all major credit cards excluding Diners Club.
PLEASE NOTE: Payments made by American Express attract a 2% surcharge. This is to cover additional costs through the use of these facilities.
We Do Not accept Cheques unless prior approval has been granted.


Returns Policy

Aquariums R Us provide customers with their full entitlement under Australian law and aim to supply goods that are of merchantable quality, fit for purpose and resemble samples shown, not withstanding slight variations in hand made items, timber pattern and colour staining.

Please choose your goods carefully, because we are not required to refund items that have been subject to accidental damage, misuse and negligence. Under the Sale of Goods act, customers are not entitled to a refund where they change their minds or make incorrect product choices. Consequently, while we are happy provide assistance on product specifications and use, we are therefore unable to guarantee that particular outcomes will fully meet customer expectations in specific circumstances and may consider offering a product exchange to achieve better outcomes.

Products returned as faulty items must be returned to the place of purchase and accompanied by their proof of purchase, such as your official receipt, however under some circumstances a bank statement may also be considered, but not guaranteed. Customers should note that warranties are not absolute guarantees that lead to automatic refunds in all circumstances and common sense should prevail. Items deemed consumables such as impellers, diaphragms, filter materials and light tubes for example which are used up in the process of operation will be replaced from time to time at the owners expense. Other items may not cover specific damage such as broken glass in tanks, glass heaters or light tubes for example, so consumers should check these items and seek advice prior to purchase.

Most manufacturers offer a 12 month warranty, however this can vary from 6mths for cheaper, disposable items to 5yrs on higher end purchases.


Pricing

We offer you consistently low prices on every item in our store. All prices are listed in Australian dollars.
Price Matching...
Aquariums R Us has a discretionary price-matching policy at this time. We work consistently towards maintaining competitive prices on everything we carry, and are always interested in customer feed back.
If you think our price for a particular item isn't competitive with that of our competitors, you may bring this to our attention and in some cases we may be able to offer an additional discount particularly where items are bought in bulk.
It may not be possible for Aquariums R Us to lower the price of an article in some circumstances.
Here are some of the reasons why this may not be possible...
Where the competitor's product is not an identical match with ours.
Where the competitor's total price does not include warranties or sales tax.
Where the competitor is out of stock and doesn’t have items ready for sale.
Where the product is reduced because it’s discontinued, soiled, or obsolete.
Where the competitor's price is not current.

While every effort is made to ensure that all prices are up to date and correct, it is recommended that you confirm prices prior to placing an order.


Deliveries

Aquariums R Us is able to deliver tanks and other bulky goods throughout the Brisbane area and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. Delivery of bulky goods outside this area can be arranged by the customer using private transport companies. Smaller goods (not tanks) would be dispatched via Australia Post or couriers. Arrival times are estimates only.
Goods must be paid for in advance and insurance is recommended, as we do not accept any responsibility for goods not delivered by us. Where goods are delivered by us, a fee will be charged and delivery made by a single driver. Delivery means from our address to yours and does not include installation therefore it is recommended that you have help to unload. You may request a 2nd delivery person to assist with placement at an additional cost. Our helpful drivers will render assistance if they consider it safe to do so. Goods must be paid for in full prior to being unloaded whereupon the customer assumes all responsibilities.


Out of Metro Services

Aquariums R Us provides goods to customers all over Australia as well as internationally. Goods must be paid for in advance and insurance is recommended, as we do not accept any responsibility for goods not delivered by us.
Bulky Goods
Delivery of bulky goods (including all tanks and aquarium furniture) outside the metropolitan area can be arranged by the customer using private transport companies. Pick up may be arranged from either of our Brisbane locations, or Aquariums R Us will deliver to any metropolitan dispatch centre for a regular delivery fee. Small Goods
Smaller goods (not tanks) may be dispatched via Australia Post, Couriers Please, Fastways, etc. A postage and handling price will be provided by your sales person. Arrival times are estimates only.


Custom Tanks and Furniture

All custom tanks and aquarium furniture must be paid for in full at the time of ordering.
Allow 7 – 10 days for tanks of a simple design and up to 3 weeks for more complex shapes. Custom stands and hoods should be completed within 3 weeks, however more complex shapes, sizes or cabinets can take longer. We have over 50 different off the shelf sizes available and in stock now awaiting delivery, so you may wish to check out the nearest standard size first.

We use only new glass on our tanks and only solid pine timber in our furniture, except for the floor and mounting platforms done in plywood, which are totally concealed. We recommend that you paint or stain your aquarium furniture prior to using it.

Generally we recommend that people stay with standard lengths to accommodate lighting fixtures supplied in standard sizes. Varying height and width in most cases is easy, although this may require the use of more heavy duty materials, supplied at additional cost.

Customers are encouraged where possible to submit a drawing of their design to speed up and facilitate a price and time estimate. All goods normally contain a manufacturer’s warranty that covers workmanship and fitness of purpose, however where specifications and design are supplied by the customer such warranties may be limited.


Uncollected Items

Uncollected Goods...
Due to a shortage of storage space we request that customers promptly pick up or arrange delivery of goods upon receiving advice that goods are available for dispatch. It is in the customers interest to do this because the longer goods are stored the more likely they are to suffer from handling, dust, and moisture etc.

Uncollected Orders...

Raw Pine furniture is subject to distortion from environmental conditions such as humidity and heat which can lead to doors and hoods bowing or warping if not finished (painted or stained) shortly after being delivered, therefore we recommend customers pick up or arrange delivery promptly as we will not be held responsible for these effects if not collected within two (2) weeks of being notified. Goods paid for but not collected within 30 days will be forfeited.
Repairs...
Due to space constraints all repaired tanks must be picked up within seven (7) days of receiving advice of their completion. Goods not collected after two (2) weeks will be sold. Goods are left at owners risk.
Returns...
Goods returned for repair or warranty must be collected within 30 days otherwise goods will be sold.

Privacy Policy

Customers and suppliers may rest assured that all information provided to Aquariums R Us will be treated confidentially. We do not collect information on customers other than what we require for our customers needs, ie: deliveries and layby information. We do not record credit card details, all details are input directly into the Eftpos terminals at time of sale and are not recorded.
